You just checked your phone again. It’s been six hours since he texted. Your stomach is in knots, and you’re telling yourself stories. He’s losing interest. He met someone else. You said something wrong in that last text. Your chest feels tight. Your hands are actually shaking. You want to text him again, but you’re terrified it’ll push him away.

Here’s what the most secure women know that you don’t. When a man pulls away, your power is not in chasing him, texting him, or trying to figure out what you did wrong. Your power is in what you do next. Because the way you respond when he goes quiet is the exact thing that either pushes him away for good or pulls him back even stronger.

So in this article I’m going to show you the 10 things that secure, magnetic women do when a man pulls away. These are the moves that make a good man come back on his own and choose you for good.

I’m Brody Boyd with Magnetize Your Man, and for over 20 years combined with my wife Antia, we’ve been helping thousands of successful women all over the world to attract loving, long-term, committed relationships with men they actually want, without wasting years chasing emotionally unavailable guys who treat them like a backup plan. Let’s dive in.

1. She Regulates Herself First. No Panic Text.

If you took half the energy you currently spend managing his moods, his friendships, his schedule, his nutrition, his haircut, and his group chat with his family, and you redirected that energy into managing yourself, your man would start acting like a completely different human being. Almost like magic.

Here’s a quick story from one of our clients, L. When L came into our world, she had been in a long, drawn-out, uncertain situation with her man. No real commitment, no clarity, no title. She could have kept pushing and demanding that he define the relationship. Instead she got into our program, committed to the process, stopped managing him, and started her real inner feminine transformation.

A few months later she messaged us: “My man fully committed to me last night, and we are official as a couple.” And she added, “This is the most loving, caring, fun, and connected relationship I’ve ever been in. And most importantly, I love who I am in it.”

That’s exactly what happens when a woman truly masters detachment. She doesn’t lose the man. She actually gets the relationship she always wanted handed to her on a diamond-studded platter.

2. She Doesn’t Chase. She Reads The Pattern.

Here’s what most women don’t realize. When a man starts to pull away or ignore you, your natural instinct is to fix it, to figure it out, to do something about it. You start thinking, “What can I do to get him back? How can I make him see my value? Should I reach out? Should I give him space? Should I send him something to remind him of all the good times we had?”

All of this is masculine energy. That’s doing energy. That’s outcome-focused energy. And when you operate from that place, you’re actually pushing him further away, because attraction between a man and a woman is created by polarity.

The masculine is the doing energy. The masculine leads, directs, pursues, and solves problems. The feminine is the being energy. The feminine receives, flows, feels, and enjoys the process. When you step into the masculine role by trying to lead the relationship, trying to control the outcome, trying to fix the problem, you destroy the very polarity that creates chemistry and attraction. He doesn’t feel like a man around you anymore. He feels like you’re trying to do his job.

3. She Keeps Her Own Life Full. He’s Invited In, Not Waited On.

A magnetic woman has a full life. She has her faith and her friendships, her prayer and her Pilates, her calling and her cat. She has her own story, and a man is invited into it. He is not the sole author of it.

If your entire emotional weather depends on whether one specific guy texts you back, you are not rooted. You are tethered. Anything tethered can be yanked. Anything built on sand is not stable. But something strongly rooted, a 60-mile-per-hour wind blows through and she is unaffected.

This is what we teach inside of our advanced magnetic feminine polarity course: how to become the kind of woman whose energetic foundation is so deep and so beautiful that a man feels lucky just standing in your orbit. A rooted woman doesn’t need a man to make her happy on a basic level. She needs the right man who can join in with and help amplify her joy.

4. She Says It Once Clearly, Then Lets Him Respond.

There’s a life-changing difference between initiating and signaling, and most women have never been taught the distinction.

Initiating is masculine energy. That’s the hunter going out into the forest, tracking and chasing the target. Signaling is feminine energy. It’s the flower opening its petals. It’s the lighthouse turning on its beam. It’s Cleopatra, who never chased a single man in her entire life and yet somehow had two of the most powerful men on the planet completely obsessed with her.

You think Cleopatra was triple texting Julius Caesar at midnight going, “Hey, just checking in, did you see my last message?” No. She was being so magnificently, unapologetically herself that powerful men crossed oceans and risked empires just to be near her. Marilyn Monroe didn’t chase men either. She just existed in a way that made any man in the room feel like an absolute idiot for not pursuing her.

Men may say they want a woman who makes the first move, but what a man actually responds to is a woman who drops the handkerchief and lets him pick it up. That is signaling. Hold his eye contact a bit longer than he expected. Smile. Laugh at his joke. Be warm. Be present. Be approachable. Be genuinely yourself. Be appreciative. And then let him do the hunting. Because a man who hunts you and wins you values you.

5. His Distance Isn’t A Verdict On Your Worth.

What is he thinking? Why is he pulling away? How can I get him to choose me? All of that gives him the power. All of that makes the relationship about whether you’re good enough for him, and that’s backwards.

The truth is, when a man ignores you, he’s showing you who he is. He’s showing you how he handles conflict. He’s showing you how he treats a woman when things get uncomfortable. He’s showing you his level of emotional maturity and his capacity for commitment.

Your job is not to convince him to change. Your job is not to prove that you’re worth showing up for. Your job is to decide if his behavior aligns with the kind of love you want to experience in your life.

6. She Gives Him His Cave. Space Isn’t Rejection.

Here’s what you need to understand about masculine energy. Men need time to be alone. It’s not personal, it’s biological. Back in caveman times, men would go out to hunt for days, sometimes weeks. They’d be alone with their thoughts, processing, strategizing, recharging. Usually they only talked to other men through hand signals, or they didn’t talk at all. That’s how the masculine operates.

Your man still needs that bear cave. He needs some space occasionally to just breathe without needing to explain himself or manage anyone else’s emotions.

But here’s where feminine communication changes everything. Instead of making it mean something about you, instead of attacking him with “You never want to spend time with me anymore,” you share your feelings with him vulnerably. To make sure you’re not penetrating him energetically, you first start with something like this: “May I share something with you?” Then once he responds, you share, “I’m noticing I’m feeling some loneliness. When you came home and went straight to the couch, a part of me told myself a story that maybe you didn’t want to be around me.”

See what that does? You’re sharing your raw emotion without blaming him. You’re being vulnerable without being accusatory. You’re giving him space to be the hero who solves the problem when he’s able to, instead of the villain who caused it.

7. She Adjusts Her Access, Not Her Warmth.

This one hides under the disguise of generosity, which makes it sneaky and dangerous. You’re not just giving him things. You’re giving him your advice when he never asked for it. You’re giving him your full emotional energy before he’s done anything to earn it. You’re giving him your schedule, your weekends, your attention, and your time before he’s even asked for any of it.

You’ve given him so many free samples that he’s basically living at Costco on a Saturday. Why would he buy the whole package? He already has the full tasting experience for free, right there.

The masculine is wired to desire and pursue that which he has not obtained yet. When you preemptively give everything before he’s invested anything, you remove his desire to pursue. You’ve put yourself on a shelf labeled “already claimed.”

There’s a reason scripture says, “Don’t throw your pearls before swine.” Your time, your attention, your heart, your energy, these are your pearls. These are priceless. But when you scatter them freely before a man who hasn’t done a single thing to really earn them, he won’t see them as pearls. He’ll walk right over them. He’ll trample them.

So hold your pearls. Let him work for them. Let him want them so badly that he can barely stand it. That wanting is what makes him commit.

8. She Holds A Standard. Compatible, Just Not Available.

Some of you have dropped your standards so low that a worm could limbo underneath them. And then you’re confused when a crawling man shows up for you. He texts back inside of 48 hours and you’re treating it like he just parted the Red Sea.

I’m not being mean to you, I’m being honest, because the man that you have to lower the bar so low for is never the man that is good for your heart in the first place. Your standards aren’t cruel, they’re clarifying. They tell the wrong men to move along, and then they call the real men up into a higher version of himself.

Every healthy man I know, including me, became a better man because of a woman who refused to settle for less. Antia never made it easy to lower her standards. She didn’t nag me. She didn’t criticize. She just quietly refused to accept what wasn’t good for her heart. And that is a big part of the reason why I became the husband that I am today.

Raising your bar and keeping it there isn’t about being harsh or bitter. This is actually the whole foundation of what we teach inside of our magnetic feminine polarity course. It’s about holding your value with grace. You can be the softest, warmest woman in the room and still be the one who will not stand for less. Never lower the bar. Instead, inspire a man to rise toward it.

9. She’ll Have The Hard Talk, Even If It Ends Things.

Here’s what I teach our clients. If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no. If he’s not showing up consistently, if he’s not making you feel safe and cherished, if he’s playing games and pulling away, then he doesn’t get access to you. Not because you’re punishing him, but because you have standards. You know your worth, and you’re only interested in a man who sees it too and is willing to match your energy.

So when a man ignores you, instead of asking “What did I do wrong?” ask yourself, “Is this the kind of man I want in my life? Is this the kind of treatment I’m willing to accept?”

And if the answer is no, then you walk away. Not with anger, not with resentment, but with clarity and self-respect. You simply say, “This doesn’t align with the love I’m creating in my life, and I’m moving on.”

10. She Knows Her Value, And She Can Always Walk Away.

A compliment from a man should feel like dessert, not like life support.

If your self-worth rises and falls based on whether he texted, whether he used the heart emoji, whether he sounded enthusiastic enough, whether he complimented your dress, whether he called you beautiful, whether he looked impressed enough, then you’re no longer relating to him from fullness. You’re relating to him like he’s a vending machine that dispenses self-worth to you.

That is exhausting for a man and for you. And it makes you much easier to manipulate, because any man with halfway decent psychological awareness can feel that your approval hunger is running the show. Then he doesn’t have to build anything real. He just has to give you 10 percent effort and you respond like he just cured world hunger.

Your worth has to come from yourself, not from him. A man should add to your joy, not become the sole manufacturer of it. That’s why self-worth matters so much. That’s why your identity matters so much. That’s why your relationship with God, your peace, your standards, and your inner anchoredness matter so much. Because if you don’t know who you are, or whose you are, you will keep handing that job to men. And many of them are wildly under-qualified for it.
