You give. You care. You try to show him how much you love him.

You help him, support him, and make his life easier in every way you can. And yet, something still feels off. He likes you, but he doesn’t fully choose you. He stays, but he doesn’t step up.

And deep down, it hurts.

Because you know how much you’re giving… and it still doesn’t feel like enough.

If you’ve ever felt like you are doing everything right and still not getting the love you truly want, you are not alone. So many women end up here, confused and exhausted, wondering why it feels so one-sided.

The truth is, it’s not that you are not enough.

It’s that you’ve been taught to give in a way that makes a man comfortable… but not deeply attached.

I’m Brody Boyd, and together with my wife Antia, we’ve been helping thousands of successful women all over the world for over 20 years combined attract a loving, long-term, and committed relationship with the man they truly desire.

We’ve even shared this work at Google, the Harvard University Faculty Club, and Good Morning San Diego.

And what you’re about to learn will shift how you see love in a way you won’t be able to unsee.

1. He Doesn’t Fall For Your Help… He Falls For Your Heart

This is one of the biggest misunderstandings in dating.

You think that if you show him how much you care by helping him, he will feel closer to you. So you step in. You fix things. You support him. You remember everything for him. You make his life smoother and easier.

And yes, he may enjoy that.

But that doesn’t mean he feels more attraction.

A man doesn’t fall in love with how useful you are. He falls in love with how he feels when he is with you. He wants to feel your warmth, your softness, your emotions, and your truth. That is what creates connection.

When you hide your real feelings and replace them with doing more, you lose the very thing that creates attraction. Your vulnerability is not a weakness. It is what allows him to feel close to you.

Something as simple as saying, “I felt a little hurt when that happened, and I think part of me just wants to feel important to you,” can create more connection than anything you could ever do for him.

He doesn’t need another helper. He needs to feel your heart.

2. Your Peace Is Prettier Than Your Performance

Many women try to win love by being perfect.

They try to say the right thing.

Act the right way.

Never be too much.

Never be too needy.

It becomes exhausting.

And even if you hide it well, that pressure shows up in your energy. It feels tense. It feels like you are trying to earn something.

But real attraction does not come from performance.

It comes from peace.

A woman who is calm and grounded in herself feels different. She is not trying to prove her worth. She already feels it. She is not overthinking every message or analyzing every little detail. She allows things to flow.

That kind of energy is rare. And because it is rare, it is deeply attractive.

You don’t have to work harder to be chosen. You have to feel more at ease in who you already are. When you stop performing, your natural radiance has space to show up.

3. The Woman Who Receives Gets Pursued

This is where everything starts to shift.

Most women have been taught that love is about giving. So they give more time, more effort, and more energy, hoping it will bring them closer to the man they want.

But when you do everything, there is nothing left for him to do.

And when he does not get to give, he does not feel as connected.

A man bonds through his investment. He bonds through showing up, through effort, through giving to you and seeing that it matters.

When you receive his effort with warmth and appreciation, it creates a powerful loop. He gives, you receive, and he feels that his effort made a difference. That makes him want to do more.

Receiving is not about taking or being entitled. It is about allowing space for him to step into his role. And when he does, attraction naturally grows.

4. Appreciation Activates Him More Than Accommodation

There is a big difference between doing things for a man and appreciating what he does for you.

Many women believe that if they make a man’s life easier, he will value them more. So they accommodate him. They adjust. They give more and ask for less.

But over time, this creates imbalance.

Appreciation works in a completely different way.

When a man feels that his effort is seen and valued, it creates a sense of purpose. It makes him feel good about showing up for you. It makes him want to continue.

Instead of just saying “thank you,” share the impact. Tell him how it made you feel. Tell him that you felt cared for, supported, or safe.

That emotional feedback matters more than anything you could do for him.

A man does not become deeply invested because you made his life easier. He becomes invested because he feels that what he does for you actually matters.

5. Be The Invitation, Not The Initiation

You don’t have to chase a man to create a relationship.

But you do have to be open.

There is a difference between inviting and pushing. Inviting feels warm and natural. It gives him space to respond and step forward. Pushing feels like pressure. It feels like trying to control the outcome.

When you are always initiating, always leading, and always trying to move things forward, you remove the space for him to do that.

Attraction grows in that space.

Instead of trying to force clarity or progress, open a door. Share what you feel. Express what you want in a calm and grounded way.

For example, saying, “I feel close to you, and I would love to understand what you want moving forward,” invites a real conversation without pressure.

This keeps the dynamic balanced and allows him to meet you there.

6. Stop Being So Useful

This truth can be hard to accept.

If you are always helping, fixing, and taking care of everything, you can slowly become someone he relies on instead of someone he deeply desires.

Being useful is not the same as being cherished.

When you step into the role of doing everything, you take on responsibility that was never meant to be yours in the relationship. Over time, it can start to feel one-sided.

A romantic connection needs more than support. It needs emotional presence, attraction, and polarity.

You are not here to manage his life. You are here to share an experience with him.

When you step back from always being the one who does everything, you create space for a different kind of connection to grow.

7. Convenience Is Not Chemistry

It is easy to fall into the habit of being convenient.

You are always available.

You go along with everything.

You don’t want to create tension.

And at first, this can feel good. It feels smooth and easy.

But over time, something is missing.

Comfort alone does not create deep attraction.

Chemistry needs space. It needs a sense of individuality. It needs moments where there is a little tension, a little uncertainty, and a little curiosity.

When you are always adapting to him, you lose that dynamic.

You don’t need to create drama. But you do need to stay connected to yourself. Your time, your needs, and your boundaries matter.

That is what creates a connection that feels alive instead of flat.

8. If He Doesn’t Reach, He Won’t Revere

This is where your standards come in.

A man values what he invests in. If he is not putting in effort, the connection will not grow in the same way.

This does not mean you need to force him or give ultimatums. It means you pay attention.

Is he showing up?

Is he consistent?

Is he moving closer over time?

If not, that is important information.

Holding your standards is not about being difficult. It is about being honest with yourself about what you want and what you are willing to accept.

When you continue to give your energy to someone who is not meeting you, you slowly disconnect from your own value.

But when you choose to honor yourself, everything changes.

The right man will rise to meet you. The wrong one will fall away.

And that is how it should be.

Get The Relationship Of Your Dreams

If you see yourself in this, it’s not by accident.

It means a part of you already knows something needs to change. You’ve been giving, adjusting, and showing up, hoping it would finally lead to the kind of love you truly want.

But instead, you keep feeling unsure… and sometimes even unchosen.

And that’s the painful part.

Because you’re not asking for too much. You just want to feel valued, pursued, and deeply loved by a man who chooses you fully.

The shift is not about doing more.

It is about understanding what actually makes a man feel connected, invested, and inspired to show up for you.

When you start making that shift, everything begins to change. The way he responds changes. The way you feel changes. And the kind of relationship you attract changes too.

But just know this…

What you’ve learned here is only the beginning.

There is a deeper layer to this that most women never fully see… until one moment changes everything — and suddenly, the way you’ve been approaching love no longer feels possible to go back to.

I can relate to this podcast. I’m a mixed race woman. I had this Anglo male coworker several years ago. I thought we were really good friends. I used to get him gifts at Christmas. The last time I did that, I noticed he regifted what I got him the same day. I suggested once that we carpool and he started treating me like garbage after that. He actually got me in trouble with management once because I made the mistake of trusting him. After he quit, he didn’t even wanna be friends and he unfollowed me on social media. I found out later on that he married an older South Asian woman for her money. He was an opportunist and a manipulator. James Brown called men like him the white devil.
